REPLACING FINAL DRIVE
MOUNT IN AXLE PIPE

Remove muffler - see Gr. 18.
Unscrew stabilizer on left and right
sides.

Support final drive from underneath
with a transmission lifter (source of
supply: HWB).
Pull off plug.

Unscrew nut (1).

Installation:
Use stop washer (2) at top and bottom.
Tightening torque = 180 Nm
(130 ft. lbs.).

Pull out mount with Special Tools
00 8 550, 33 1 107 and 33 4 131.

Note:
Apply both extracting arms in openings
of mount on the axle pipe.

Heat the bearing sleeve with a hot air
blower.

Coat new mount with a lubricant
(source of supply: HWB) and pull in
with Special Tools 33 4 132 / 133 and
33 3 103 / 104.

Note:
Pull mount into axle pipe against the
stop from the bevelled end.
Slot (2) of mount (1) is parallel to the
axle pipe.

Installation:
Install final drive mounts without tension,
see slot (2); if applicable, adjust
with the slots in the engine mount
brackets (see Group 11).
