REMOVING AND INSTALLING
WHEEL BEARINGS

Important!
Angular contact ball bearings cannot be
reused after removal.

Remove wheel - see Gr. 36.
Unscrew brake disc - see Gr. 34.

Unscrew and suspend output shaft from
car on piece of wire.

Installation:
Use washers (1).
Tightening torque = 58 Nm.

Unscrew nut (1).

Installation:
Replace nut.
Tightening torque = 200 Nm.
Lock nut.

With Hexagon Nut:
Lift out lockplate (1).
Unscrew nut (2).

Installation:
Tightening torque = 200 Nm.
Knock in new lockplate with Special Tools
33 4 050 and 00 0 500.

Press out output shaft with Special Tools
33 2 111 / 116 / 117 - use knurled head
bolts.

Installation:
Lubricate splines lightly with oil.
Pull in output shaft with Special Tools
33 2 115 / 116 / 119.

Drive out stub axle with Special Tool

If applicable, pull off bearing inner race
with Special Tool 00 7 500 and a pressure
pad.
