REPLACING BEARINGS FOR
FRONT WHEEL

Remove front wheel - see Gr. 36.
Unscrew brake caliper - see Gr. 34.
Remove brake disc and grease cap.

Important!
Always use new grease caps.
Install new grease cap with cement
(HWB No. 81 22 407 420).

Unlock collar nut with a chisel and
unscrew with Special Tool 11 2 180.

Installation:
Replace collar nut.
Tightening torque = 304 Nm (220 ft. lbs.).
Lock collar nut.

Pull off bearing unit with Special Tools
31 2 101/102/104.

Important!
Never reuse a pulled-off bearing unit.

Important!
Remove shield, if the inside bearing
inner race (2) remains on the stub axle
while pulling off the bearing unit.

Bend back dust cover (1) and pull off
bearing inner race (2) with Special
Tools 00 7 500 and 33 1 309.

Installation:
Replace dust cover (1).

Installation:
If applicable, install shield.
Screw in guide sleeve (1) complete
length of threads.
Pull on new bearing unit with Special
Tool 31 2 120.
