REMOVING AND INSTALLING
FRONT BRAKE PADS

Remove front wheels - see 36 10.
Pull off plug for pad wear indicator on
left side.

Note:
Only use same type of pads on one
axle.

Unscrew bolt (2).
Counterhold on guidepin.

Important!
Replace self-locking bolt.
Counterhold on guidepin.

Installation:
Tightening torque = 31 to 35 Nm
(23 to 25 ft. lbs.).

Turn up floating brake caliper.
Take off brake pads.

Installation:
Check pad and pad thickness = at least
2.0 mm (0.079").

Push back brake pistons completely.

Important!
Check that dust cover on brake piston
is not damged while assembling.
Check installed position of springs (4).

Drive out pin of pad wear indicator
carefully.
Check whether spring ring (5) can be
reused.
Replace pad wear indicators with a
worn plastic part.
