REMOVING AND INSTALLING
CLUTCH MASTER
CYLINDER

Remove driver´s seat - see Gr. 52.
Remove bottom trim panels for the
dashboard - see Gr. 51.

Unscrew pipe (1) to slave cylinder.

Unscrew cap on brake fluid tank.
Remove float housing (2).
Draw off brake fluid in tank until level
is at height of connectiion for the filler
pipe.

Unscrew piston rod (3) on clutch pedal.

Note:
The clutch pedal bears on the dashboard
after removal of the eccentric
bolt - avoid damage.

Installation:
Give eccentric bolt a light coat of
grease.
Adjust clutch peal with eccentric bolt
(7) - see Group 35.
Tightening torque = 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).

Installation:
Check whether over-center spring (3)
is engaged in the guide on the pedal
console before connecting piston
rod (3).

Pull out filler pipe (4).
Unscrew bolts (5 and 6).
Remove master cylinder.

Installation:
Bleed clutch - see 21 00.
