Survey

1 Fuel level sender
2 Locking hole
3 Sealing surface
4 Rubber insulator (top)
5 Fuel pump
6 Rubber insulator (bottom)
7 Fuel intake screen
8 Press-fit coupling
9 Coupling nut

If necessary, draw out some of the
gasline with a scavenging pump.

Lift out trunk trim panel.

Unscrew screws.
Take off cover.

Pull off plugs (1 and 2).

Loosen hose clamps.
Mark and pull off fuel hoses.

Unscrew coupling nut with Special
Tool 16 1 020.

Lift out fuel level sender (1) and fuel
pump (2).

Installation:
Always replace seal (3) and coupling
nut.

Tighten coupling nut with Special Tool
16 1 020.
Tightening torque:
26.5 mm coupling nut = 40 ± 3 Nm
(new)
31.5 mm coupling nut = 55 ± 5 Nm
