REMOVING AND INSTALLING
AND CHECKING TANK
VENTING VALVE

Lift out plug.
Pull off hoses.
Lift out tank venting valve.
 
Connect vacuum hose (1) on the 8 mm
diameter adapter.
Supply 12 volts power to the tank
venting valve (2) with Special Tool
61 1 440 (2).

Select multimeter funkction 21 on the
BMW Service Tester.
Adjust vacuum to 600 ± 100 mbar.
Then switch off.

The pressure drop should not exceed
50 mbar during the testing time of
about 20 seconds.
The tank venting valve must be replaced,
if the pressure drop exceeds 50 mbar.
