REPLACING TIE ROD

Unscrew nut and press tie rod end off
of track arm with Special Tool 32 0 070.

Installation:
Replace self-locking nut.
Clean journal and bore to remove
grease.
Tightening torque = 36.5 ± 3.5 Nm
(26.5 ± 2.5 ft. lbs.).
Adjust toe.

Loosen clamps.

Installation:
Check dust cover, replacing if
necessary.

Unbend lockplate.
Unscrew tie rod with Special Tool
32 2 100.

Important!
Always unbend the lockplste with a
pliers (never with a hammer) to avoid
damaging the track rod and mount.

Installation:
Replace lockplate.
Shoulder (1) of lockplate bears in
opening (2) of track rod.
Tightening torque = 75 Nm (54 ft. lbs.).
