CHECKING SERVICE BRAKE
IN HIGH AND LOW PRESSURE
TESTS

High Pressure Leak Test:

Test both brake circuits.
1st circuit = front left and right
2nd circuit = rear left and right
Unscrew bleeder screw.
Connect pressure tester and bleed.
Do not run engine.

Apply a force* on the brake pedal and hold
the brake pedal in position with a pedal
prop.
Pressure must not drop by more than 8 %
after 2 minutes.

Caution!
Hight pressure leak tests must be performed
with the engine stopped.


* Force on pedal: approx. 500 N
(110 lbs.) equal to line pressure of
approx. 50 N (11 lbs).
Max. permissible pressure drop
within two minutes: 8%.

Low Pressure Test:

Test both brake circuits.
Take back the pedal support until testing
pressure in the brake system is 2 to 5 bar.
Car and tester must remain still, since any
motion would produce wrong readings.
The pressure must remain constant during
the 5 minute test.
Check all ruber parts if there is considerable
pressure drop.
Bleed brake calipers after finishing the test.
