REMOVING AND INSTALLING
IDLE SPEED CONTROL
VALVE

Pull off plug (1).
Disconnect retaining strap (2).
Remove idle speed control valve after
pulling it off of the hoses.

Installation:
Check code number (1).
Check idle speed = 760 ± 40 rpm.

Note:
Operation of the idle speed control
valve can be checked by taking hold of
it with a hand (timed power supply will
be felt).
 
Mechanical Test

It should be possible to move the
rotary piston (1) in the idle speed
control valve by turning the idle speed
control valve suddenly.

Electric Test

Measure the resistance between
terminals (1 and 3).
Specification: approx. 40 ohms.
Measure the resistance between
terminals (2 and 1) or (2 and 3).
Specification: approx. 20 ohms each.

Dynamic Test

Remove idle speed control valve (plug
remains connected).
Open or close rotary piston (1)
completely.
Turn on ignition.
The rotary piston should move into
and remain in a position equal to
about 50 % of the cross section
opening.
